On January 19, 2026, the local government led by Mayor Richard Garin warmly welcomed five nurses and nine midwives under the DOH National Health Workforce Support System (NHWSS).
Their deployment will add to the current staff of the Rural Health Unit, helping to strengthen health services.
This effort aims to support the delivery of basic and essential health services such as immunization, prenatal and postnatal care, nutrition programs, family planning, health advocacy and promotion, PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) profiling, house-to-house visits, communicable and non-communicable disease control programs, and assistance in field or barangay consultations β€” especially in UUC (unserved and underserved communities), formerly known as GIDA (Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas) β€” in support of Universal Health Care.
They were personally endorsed by Annabelle Bernadas, RN, the DOH Representative.
