With the inauguration of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) satellite office on April 13, 2026, residents of Miagao and the wider first district can look forward to more convenient access and efficient processing of documents related to the agencyβs key programs.
In an interview, DSWD Regional Director Joselito Estember emphasized that the new SWAD satellite office will handle concerns involving Supplemental Feeding, Social Pension for Senior Citizens, the Walang Gutom Program, and other vital initiatives.
βWe are bringing DSWD services closer to the people, especially during this time of crisis. This not only saves valuable time but also reduces expenses associated with following up on paperwork at the central office,β Director Estember stated.
The establishment of the SWAD satellite office marks a significant step in decentralizing social welfare services, ensuring that assistance reaches more communities with greater efficiency and responsiveness.
