In recognition of their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the townβs security, Mayor Richard Garin proudly led the inauguration of the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Siguridad (TIKAS) Project on July 22, 2025. This initiative, funded by the Office of Congresswoman Janette Garin, aims to enhance the living and working conditions of the soldiers stationed at Camp Monteclaro in Barangay Igtuba.
The project encompasses the construction of key facilities, including a mess hall, soldiersβ quarters, and an administration building. Additionally, it features the concreting of internal roads within the camp, improving accessibility and operational efficiency.
In his address, Mayor Garin emphasized the vital role of infrastructure in bolstering peace and security efforts, affirming the local governmentβs commitment to supporting the armed forces and promoting stability throughout the community.
The inauguration was attended by key personalities, including 3IB Commander GMGEN Miguel Samson, 61st IB Hunter Battalion outgoing commanding officer LTC Arturo Balgos, and incoming CO LTC Jekyll Julius Dulawan. The event also coincided with the Change of Command of the Hunter Battalion.
