A total of 15 Miagaowanon students have successfully qualified as beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES). These students will be deployed to support the existing workforce of the local government unit for a period of 20-22 days, gaining valuable work experience while earning income.
On May 26, 2026, the selected students attended a comprehensive orientation session facilitated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Iloilo Province, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Miagao. The orientation provided essential information about the programβs objectives, guidelines, and work expectations to prepare the students for their upcoming roles.
SPES is a government initiative designed to provide temporary employment opportunities for students during their school break. The salaries earned through this program are intended to help augment their educational expenses for the upcoming academic year, easing financial burdens and encouraging continued enrollment. This initiative not only supports students financially but also fosters valuable skills and work experience to enhance their future employability.
