On May 8, 2026, the Municipality of Miagao proudly hosted the Onion Farmers Field Day, welcoming participants from neighboring municipalities including San Joaquin, Tubungan, Alimodian, San Miguel, Cabatuan, Santa Barbara, and Oton. This important gathering brought together local farmers dedicated to improving their agricultural practices and fostering community collaboration.
The primary goal of the event was to provide farmers with valuable new insights and practical knowledge through hands-on learning and the shared experiences of their fellow cultivators. By focusing on peer-to-peer exchange, the field school aimed to equip participants with innovative techniques and sustainable methods that could enhance onion production, increase yields, and address common challenges faced by farmers in the region. This initiative reflects the municipality’s commitment to supporting its agricultural community and promoting food security through education and cooperation.
The event was spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture, in partnership with the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist.
