On March 27, 2026, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Miagao convened a follow-up meeting to finalize and enhance specific safety measures for Holy Week 2026. This gathering was part of the LGUβs ongoing commitment to ensuring that the upcoming celebrations are conducted in a manner that guarantees a safe and memorable experience for both tourists and residents.
During the meeting, Tourism Miagao headed by Mrs. Mary Diance Flordeliza, highlighted the crucial importance of prioritizing safety and security throughout the Holy Week festivities. They emphasized the need to uphold tradition while minimizing risks, so that all religious observances and cultural activities can proceed without concern or disruption. To this end, the LGU is collaborating closely with various key agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), and the concerned barangays. Together, these groups are working to ensure the effective implementation of safety protocols, crowd control measures, and emergency response strategies. This coordinated approach aims to protect the wellbeing of everyone attending the Holy Week events and to preserve the solemnity and spirit of the celebrations.
