The local government unit (LGU) of Miagao has become a benchmark for exemplary Gender and Development (GAD) programs and initiatives across the country. Its successful strategies have attracted attention from various municipalities seeking to enhance their own gender-focused efforts.
On March 4, 2026, representatives from the municipalities of Pigcawayan, Alamada, Libungan, Midsayap, Aleosan, Pikit, and Banisilanβ€”collectively known as the PALMA+PB Alliance in North Cotabatoβ€”visited Miagao. The purpose of their visit was to study and adopt the municipality’s effective GAD practices.
During the visit, Miagao emphasized its unwavering support for women entrepreneurs, highlighting policies and programs that empower female business owners and promote gender equality in local economic development. This exchange of knowledge aims to inspire and improve gender-responsive governance throughout the region.
