Mayor Richard Garin took a leading role in the formulation of the Local Governance Agenda of Miagao during a Seminar Workshop held on August 5-6, 2025, at the IST U Hostel. This important event brought together key stakeholders to collaboratively shape the future direction of Miagao’s local government.
The workshop’s primary objective was to develop a comprehensive set of priority development programs, with a special focus on capacity development initiatives that will drive progress in Miagao over the next three years. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions and planning sessions to ensure that these programs would address the community’s most pressing needs and aspirations.
The seminar was facilitated by the Municipal Planning and Development Office, working in close coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
In his message, Mayor Garin encouraged everyone involved to identify their flagship programs—those signature initiatives that can bring recognition not only to their respective offices but also to the entire town. He emphasized the importance of innovation and impact in choosing these programs to create lasting benefits for the community.
Furthermore, Mayor Garin outlined a clear vision for where Miagao is headed in the next three years, underscoring the commitment to inclusive governance. He highlighted the goal of fostering transparency, participation, and equity in local government processes to ensure that all sectors of the community contribute to and benefit from the town’s development.
