The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), led by Engr. Franco Carlo Monteclaro, through its Training Section headed by Ms. Zoila Fernandez, recently conducted a Basic First Aid training for youth volunteers in eight public high schools and two private schools.
The training aimed to increase awareness and equip selected participants with essential first aid skills, enabling them to respond promptly and confidently during emergencies in their respective schools. By fostering self-reliance and preparedness, the program empowers students to act as effective first responders in critical situations.
In addition to practical skills, the participants gained a deeper understanding of the values of volunteerism through engaging and interactive activities. The training was facilitated in collaboration with the Iloilo Chapter of the Red Cross Youth and the MDRRMO team, ensuring comprehensive and expert instruction.
