On March 12, 2026, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) hosted a “Kumustahan,” an environmental consultation meeting at the Miagao People’s Center.
The gathering aims to address urgent environmental concerns and discuss cooperative efforts which centered on important topics like solid waste management, biodiversity protection, and preparations for Environmental Week 2026.
The participants agreed that the Environmental Week celebration will be highlighted by the “Barangay Ko, Gwapa Program.” This program aims to evaluate and highlight the parks, green spaces, and recycling projects in each barangay, promoting community involvement and environmental responsibility.
By encouraging open discussion and shared goals, MENRO aims to boost barangay participation in sustainable environmental actions, building a cleaner, greener municipality for Miagaowanons.
