The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is actively conducting monitoring activities focused on addressing the issue of child labor in Miagao. Specifically, the DOLE is overseeing the well-being and working conditions of 153 identified child laborers, who hail from 21 different barangays within the municipality.

This monitoring aims to ensure these children are withdrawn from hazardous work and provided with appropriate interventions. The DOLE’s efforts involve assessing the types of labor these children are engaged in, evaluating the risks they face, and coordinating with local authorities and community organizations to offer support services such as education, skills training, and livelihood assistance for their families.
