On May 8, 2026, the people of Miagaowan proudly witnessed the unveiling of the Taytay Boni marker, officially recognizing it as a National Cultural Treasure of the Philippines.
Coinciding with the town’s Heritage Month celebration, Surundon 2026, this designation highlights Taytay Boni’s cultural and historical importance, safeguarding its legacy for future generations.
The ceremony drew barangay officials from Guibongan, Kiryan Sur, and Igtuba, as well as national and local government representatives, reflecting strong community and official support.
This significant event was witnessed by Provincial tourism officer Aulynn B. Yue Sin, Ms. Jessel N. Pitallos, Shrine Curator II of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and Professor Pepito R. Fernandez, Dean at the University of the Philippines College of Arts and Sciences and Rev. Fr.
Cirilio C. Camus Miagao Parish Team Ministry.
