The declaration for the “Closed Season” for fishing remains effective until October 2019. This, after the Sangguniang Bayan passed and approved Municipal Ordinance 2019 – 17 amending Section 64 of Municipal Ordinance 2008-02 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Fishery Code of 2008 of the Municipality of Miagao” changing the Closed Season for catching fish with from April to September to May to October of every year.
In view therefore, it is illegal for any person to catch with the use of sahid, sinsoro, lilang and vintahan equipped with a fine mesh nets for the aforementioned period.
