MIAGAO GOES ORGANIC. The local government of Miagao is seriously working on the implementation of organic agriculture in the municipality. As such, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist facilitated the conduct of an Orientation and Formulation of the Municipal Local Technical Committee (MLTC) on Organic Agriculture Program at the Executive Conference Room on August 22, 2013. They have also come up with an Action Plan and identified crops and vegetation that can be produced through organic farming.
The one-day event was conducted after Mayor Macario N. Napulan signed an Executive Order 06-A dated July 22, 2013 entitled “An Order Creating the Municipal Technical Committee on Organic Agriculture Program” which aims to advocate, develop and promote organic farming in the municipality.
“The Municipal Government of Miagao is highly committed in increasing the annual produce and income of farmers using organic agriculture system while protecting our fragile environment and addressing climate change,” highlighted Mayor Napulan.
