MIAGAO, Iloilo – Mayor Macario N. Napulan, MD led the officials and employees of the Local Government of Miagao in the Necrological Service paid as tribute to former Municipal Administrator and Association of Barangay Captains (now Liga ng mga Barangay) President Joaquin Monsale Tesoro, Jr.
“We have lost a great man, a Miagaowanon who left a legacy to our Municipality,” said Mayor Napulan as he expressed condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family.
According to Napulan, the loss of Tesoro, 73, “made an impact” to the Municipality. Tesoro, who was in the government service for 37 years, first served the municipality as Punong Barangay of Barangay Tan-agan in 1989 to 1997. During his stint as Punong Barangay, he was elected President of the Association of Barangay Captains (1989-1994). In 1997 to 2008, he was appointed Municipal Administrator.
As municipal administrator, among his legacy was the conceptualization of Miagao’s famous Salakayan Festival.
During the Service, Hon. Carmelo Nochete, on behalf of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, presented Resolution 2019-69 “A Resolution expressing the deepest sympathy and condolences of the Sanggunang Bayan, on behalf of the LGU, to the family of former Municipal Administrator Joaquin M. Tesoro, Jr.”
Likewise, the 119 Punong Barangays of the town expressed their condolences to the family through Liga ng mga Barangay Resolution 05-07 Series of 2019 that was presented by its President Hon. Robert Galvez.
Tesoro will be laid to final rest after the 2PM Mass on May 31st at the Parish of the Miraculous Medal in Barangay Cubay, this Municipality. (ABMande)
