The members of the different religious groups, the local government unit of Miagao, and the academe showed their cooperation as members of the church and humanity during the unveiling of the updated marker of the world heritage Miagao Church.
The remarkable event was attended by UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines Secretary-General Dr. Ivan Anthony Henares, Miagao Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Cirilo Camus, and Mayor Richard Garin.
In his message, Mayor Garin said that the marker is a challenge to all Miagaowanons to preserve the Church and its heritage.
“This Church and heritage will be our link to education, culture, aesthetic aspirations, and economic legacies. This is a symbol of us Miagaowanons,” he said.
